Inevitavilty of falling out a tree

Umbrella Tree.

The most overwhelming sense of tranquality, Is for me the greatest all the park has to offer, I found that while laying on my back staring into the tree canop & trees around me offered some shelter from the elements and blanketing the background noise in a shroud of silence. the tall arching bodies of the drunks and weaving reaching branches knitting a simple delicate and rather entrancing pattern. More so for my own dwindling state of optical disorientation.
This same place earlier declared most suitable location for red ribbons was at best a small jungle like trek to enter as the trees fingers whipped against me. I wanted to recreate this sense of being enclosed and yet open offering a sight for all situations.
decking circle base around tree and slanted shelter around upper raise section, add chalk board sectioning.

The top umbrella could be made to fold down ward wrapping around tree trunk allowing protection from weather, would/could also make rather interesting form. bevel curved wood is possible ( I know it it, but cost is factor) Could the wrapping and unwrapping be made accessible to public or would health and safety be a no no?

Combination of own materials and using presence of objects around me to create a animated work, the substances used to create marks all naturally move, even synthetic ball was taken with me, its movements created initial mark, This spread amongst as the tree debre bustled.

I think the Pink required something to catch the light, buffing the

red ball I used earlier and placing centre, acting as a bud, the

powder pigment like a flowers seed.Image its self is verging

on a asrophysics diagram.

As the light slowly crept toward me the balls sheen distracted from the
details of the pigment more so upon closer inspection, using some
black ink and a leaf I placed in centre, the ridges of the leafs vain seemed
enticing, the ink had a gleam like oil.smaller flecks of paint even more noticeable
in contrast.

I briefly experimented with other areas playing with sensation of
the materials and texture colours etc of the area around me.

I discovered a wonderful little arena all wind weathered, some tree had came crashing down and brought with it the entailing branches and debree of others it create a wonderful little hidden area from main path and offered a delicious escape from the bitter wind, even the canopy acted as a casual almost fully functioning barrier from the rain I suspect I was not the first person to discover this derelict idelic haven. The floor surrounding me was littered with the cast off's of the casual other from a bottle to a burnt out bed, which in its self was an interesting discovery not so much as a insight as to the nature of the area but the fire damaged plastic had created a facsimile of the organic . small bristle acting as though the sought to reach out toward the light, this area became my home for some time as I drew and sat.

My desire to colour in a full tree could not be fulfilled

Though I attempted this rather shifty version I still want to colour in the trees, this was done using some powdered paint and a little amount of effort though it did lead me to furthering my garnishing of trees, Of course the idea of painting a forest or even a single tree does seemingly at least to me have rather traditional art connotations, which might play rather nicely within the confines of the park more so as it is clashed with contemporary arts, yet houses traditional and those who use it seemingly have no actual interest in art them selfs.

The method used today would likely work rather nicely on a very transient , fleeting way though would be highly dependent on weather conditions but after math its self a stream awash with colour might its self be of interest more or less anyway yes.

This little exploration lead me to the forest, which seemed a natural evolution.

The vast majority of visitors to the park

when questioned felt that Family & Children events and facilities catering to children required furtherer choices this project would aim to create child friendly whimsical tales, and situations to be explored and discovered they would not be fully laid out nor declared as to specific location rather families children them self would adventure through exploring sights, and sounds of interest.

My own interests lays in creating these scenarios and scenes.

Below shows a sample of possible smaller discoveries which could be implemented.

The objects shown would have to be of a stronger weather and person ( vandalism and child proof)

This scene sets the possibilities of using lighting, which would benefit security and sensation of safety while also greater later events where the unseen is highlighted, in most literal sense.

Evening and weekend events, encouraging child and family friendly 'park performances' plays, using the light objects and art works as props.

From my own perspective the activity of creating scenes, scenarios of magical and surreal situations is intrinsically interesting, While I prefer to think that the park its self could implement basic outline of these ideas it does also offer other function of the park 'art' a avenue of possibility to play within the confines of the park in a manner which the public would enjoy though the form of work may require rather specific refinement.

Perhaps Mix the housing and the fantasy worlds to create a new direction?

As I have yet to have formalised agreement on placement this mock is tenuously tethered to the tree in non permanent fashion, The element from local community members/children has yet to be implemented.This is merely a testing of construction.

While I am rather pleased with outcome I feel if I wanted to continue for practicality a great many more and smaller scale would be more appropriate, perhaps using children's drawing to create three dimensional objects nestings.

Artist Jeremy Deller is working with bat scientist Dr Kate Jones, to create a phone app and website to record and make images of the incredible sounds of bats.

Bats hear in 3D and may ‘hear in colour.’

Human hearing ranges 15 to 20 kHz depending on age. In comparison, some bats can hear sounds up to 110 kHz. Bats make calls as they fly, and listen to the returning echoes to build up a sonic map of their surroundings (echolocation). The bat can tell how far something is by how long it takes the sounds to return to them.

Internet experimenters Pachube and hybrid production company Disqo are working with Invisible Dust to enable audiences to upload and identify bat calls and then create 3D visualisations in real time, initially recorded on the Olympics Greenway and then internationally, launched at Create Festival, June 2012.

Jeremy Deller has a continuing interest in bats since making his Turner Prize winning film Memory Bucket in 2004 and in 2007 he established a national design competition to design a bat house.

Although Britain’s 18 species of bat are protected, their numbers are declining. Dr Kate Jones, Institute of Zoology (see scientists) has studied bats for 20 years and believes they are the heart beat of the environment. As the Director of iBats and Chair of the Bat Conservation Trust she is concerned that worldwide biodiversity is declining but there is little monitoring going on especially in real time.

Shows rough plan and dimensions of todays work, After lecture built this bird house unfortunatly lack of camera and rather a lot of varnish prohibited taking photos or moving to location where I could photograph finished work.

This version rather than various other market designs I have explored offers ample space for local children to personalise, while the rather small opening ensures non aggressive species usage, hindering squirrel and bird on bird ethnic cleansing.

An attempt to display finalised working model from various angles, In this version I added a hinged door though if i were to continue with this project I would use sliding panel to minimise cost and use suitable material.

From interest in fer-bushing the park with greater number of wild life ( see land management plan 2011-2016.

An aim of enrichment of wild life and addressing desire of the public for bird bat housing, for this project I would intend to create bird houses myself

       basic form of birds house, possible use recycled locally sourced material.

      could provide nest sites for these species. Similarly the provision of bat boxes
      could also encourage roosting bats where there are insufficient natural sites.

I contacted 'multi sensory impaired school' it would offer a sensory experience ' bird calls' or simple pleasure of sight etc depending on impairment, the locality and function within the park its self would offer and aid in contemplation and relaxtion, enrichment of wild life and conservation of said wildlife, this would address concern of bat and bird population.

i totaly want to take all the wood shaving the clipping and scraps glue em all togther and turn it into a tree ,it was butchered, recreated in some semi christ like resurrection . i mean why does poor tree have to change who it is and what it is to be pretty ? i mean i enjoy carving into changing shape until it becomes something I think it should be, but its wrong i mean i wouldnt take a scalpel to someone chase them around and carve them into something i thought was prettier its just not fair to the poor trees.
